  • yeah thanks for that, that'll be helpful. i know what you mean. i guess i mainly just take supplements for peace of mind lol, i've always had quite a good diet so they've never performed miracles for me. keep going anyways, great stuff. i'll check out your other channel :)

  • if your interested in the 5/3/1 program i made a tutorial on how to use it on my other account Weightlifternerd.

  • The 5/3/1 has helped me a lot on deads and squats, my deadlift actually got weaker and was down to 430, I use the 5/3/1 for 16 weeks total now i am pulling 500. Box squats I started at 365 max, after 16 weeks I hit 465, which was a 100 pound personal best, I will probably be squatting 500 raw soon without the box!

  • I eat enough to get by, but even my diet could be better, its just mediocre, there are a lot of foods I don't like that probably would help so much.

I think supplements are good if you just are a picky eater like me haha, just substitue if you don't get enough nutrients in a certain area. I may take supplements later down the road, but I want to save my money and see how far I can get with just pure hard work and different training programs, supplements is a last resort for me basically I guess

  • great stuff, you must be eating a lot :) guess there's nothing really special about food supplements, except that it's more convenient. and as for supplements like zma, it doesn't really do anything if you're already getting sufficient zinc etc in your diet... that's what i found. but that looks like an interesting program, i'm tempted to give it a go.

  • Yeah I am probably as natural as they come, I don't even take supplements currently, just a lot of hard work and dedication. I hope to pull 600 raw someday, hopefully by 2011 or 2012, I am finally using a program that is giving me great progress called the 5/3/1. If I ever do resort to supplements at some point it will probably be if I have been stalled for a long time, but until then I will see how far I can without no supplements or supportive gear, and consider those more as last resorts.

  • @Jerichosquink that's cool. i don't use straps either cos i train mainly for strength, and i like to know that i can hold on to whatever weight i lift. i'm glad you're natural too, unlike most people at your level.

  • I have been lifting weights for about 10 years on and off, the deadlift I have been training about 6-7 years on and off, I just hit 500 two weeks ago, I don't use straps because there not allowed in powerlifting.

  • that's excellent, especially with no straps. i'm 5'6, i started with a 240lb max and it's taken me ages just to get to 375lbs... i'm more a bench press person lol but i won't give up. may i ask how long you've been training for?

  • MY GOODnESs u are so STRONG dude
