Richard Dawkins tore into religious comfort zones with his claim that God is a delusion, and it seems the British ethologist, evolutionary biologist and author will stop at nothing to provoke intelligent debate about the truth of our existence.

His writings have inspired and angered many a reader and now hes back with more.

The fervent atheist and anti-creationist is often referred to as Charles Darwins rottweiler. Now, to celebrate Darwins bi-centenary, Dawkins has published a new book: The Greatest Show on Earth offers scientific evidence to back-up his own theory of evolution.

I think she thought that her questions where going rattled Dawkins and engage him in heated argument. she's a bit like a Chiwawa barking. all noise or shouting with no bite or substance.

I think a simpler explanation is that the volume was turned up too high on Dawkins' earpiece. The woman obviously has her standard-volume voice, for which all the microphones and sound levels are already set. Somebody at the sound board or on location with Dawkins messed up, plain and simple.

Dawkins did a nice job wrapping it up at the end and dealing with some silly questions and a fairly vapid (or at least ill-prepared) host.

I agree, it def would have been much more interesting if religious questions were not asked. I mean ask him how did we evolve into two seperate sexes! Chimpanzees have 48 chromosomes homosapiens 46 how did those two extra chormosomes merge in our dna!

good on Richard for the clear words, particularly about apostasy in Islam. This keeps getting denied by muslims, but they always quote verses selectively, and not from all the relevant sources (Koran and Hadith, as well as the dominant Sharia scholarship). Good on muslims who do not wish to penalize apostasy, although I know of none who would actually let an apostate live freely without some punishment. Fining an apostate ten dollars is still too much for something that is simply not harmful.
