Crossing the Pacific Ocean, S/Y Tamsen comes across a 43 ft schooner, the Freebird, on its 48th day at sea. Seven days out of Cabo San Lucus, Freebird's engine fails and for the next 41 days she makes her way slowly towards Canada. Tamsen puts together a package of fruits and vegetables and a few chocolate bars for the lone sailor, Lester Church, who was out of fresh food, besides the sprouts he grows on-board. At this writing, Freebird is still sailing along.
