Ah, I read about this in an issue of Terrorizer magazine (Feb 2011 I think). They asked Erik what his most memorable performance of 2010 was, and he said it was in Chile, where he collapsed on stage, and 8 or so people were stabbed. He said he was taken to a hospital and was checked over, and it turned out he'd collapsed from over-exhaution after 3 months of uninterrupted touring took its toll.
So, not drugs then, people. I think he's far too intelligent to fuck up his own gig with drugs.
I think its *Very* fucking strong that they kept going, i only wish i knew what Alvaro said to the people in their native tongue earlier after Erik stepped off.
Like, did they give a reason or did they just go "Oh btw, Set just took over"
As for the overdose shet...
I highly doubt its drugs seeing as if ANYONE needs drugs to get to another plane when they perform live, its not fucking Erik.
Look up any live video and any idiot can see that he doesnt need a drug to go to another level.
It's doubtful that E had an 'overdose', and it's very commendable that they kept the show going after he fell ill, but I know %100 that he uses drugs as do the vast majority of artists in the scene.
Unfortunately there has been several lowlife idiots spreading rumors around (also one idiot whose post have been canceled here) about Erik having an "overdose". This is a filthy lie, as it is impossible to overdose without taking any drugs, isnt it? So people should shut the fuck up and stop acting as if they would know anything at all...."
The show was anyway cut short by the promoters, which were scared after people got stabbed and smaller riots ensued outside the venue when people wanting to buy tickets were denied so by the police. So Watain is not to be blamed in all this.
"If you dont see an official statement from Watain on their official website, it means that is not deemed as relevant for you or others to know, as it is none of your businness. Watain completed the gig with a switched line up as they see it as their duty, no matter what, to complete their performance.

Another thing i noticed, some parts where set doesnt sing because he needs to focus on his guitar... actually sound awesome without vocals over it D:

There is no better backup vocalist for Watain than Set Teitan.

Whatever was the reason behind E not performing it's still cool that switch the lineup and play anyway. Watain are unstoppable.
