The Jamaican National Anthem (Instrumental Version), along with pictures of some Jamaican symbols and historic events.

Anthem Lyrics: Eternal Father, Bless our land Guide us with thy mighty hand Keep us free from evil powers Be our light through countless hours To our leaders, Great Defender, Grant true wisdom from above Justice, truth be ours forever Jamaica, land we love Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica, land we love Teach us true respect for all Stir response to duty's call Strengthen us the weak to cherish Give us vision lest we perish Knowledge send us, Heavenly Father, Grant true wisdom from above Justice, truth be ours forever Jamaica, land we love Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica, land we love

  • what happen to bruce golding

  • adande81,

As has been said previously, at the time this video was made, The Hon. Bruce Golding was not the Prime Minister of Jamaica, at that time the PM was The Most Honorable Portia Simpson-Miller. I have no intention to modify this video simply to add Bruce Golding in.

  • this outdated the honourable mrs. simpson miller is the prime minister no more

  • FrostyJEV,

-I am aware that Mrs. Simpson Miller is no longer the Prime Minister of Jamaica. At the date of the video she still was the PM. Unfortunately, Mr. Bruce Golding is now the Prime Minister of Jamaica. Hopefully, sometime soon Mr Golding, and his incompetent Finance Minister will be removed from office.

  • What a beautiful anthem! I am embarrassed that I never have heard it before until this Olympics. And the lyrics are so inspiring! God bless Jamaica!!!

  • Jamaica is the most amazing place on earth. I went there with my chorale for a missions trip this past summer in Mo Bay. Never have we been so welcomed and loved. It was the most breathtaking beauty and unity. While preparing for our trip we learned the national anthem of Jamaica in order to show respect for the country and its people. It did just that..and after we would sing it, the people would want to hear the US national Anthem. I will forever hold a special place in my heart for Jamaica...

  • I have never heard a more beautiful and inspiring national anthem than the one from my country.

I am truly sorry for what the imperialists did to us and for what we are doing to ourselves through the degeneration of our standards, but Jamaica has tremendous potential.

One day we could become a just society, not just by some political philosophy, but only as we yield to the God to whom our national anthem is directed.

  • Your depictions were so beautiful and I believe your video can be used as a learning tool to the many around the world who find our country and culture so fascinating. And as a people we sure are.!!! Ahem...

So even though you might not be very fond of our present prime minister, please remember to show off our loving and tolerant characteristics as a people and remember the line in our proud anthem that says....

  • ... with all of our differences we as a people with love and kindness have managed to all find room for each other enabling us to " squeeze-up" finding shade from the hot sun and pouring rain under the umbrella as one Jamaicans.

Please please put away the politicking, and if you can please post Mr Golding as the present prime minister. I mean it is a fact and he was voted in by the same electoral system as the other ministers that were depicted in your video.

    Your depictions were so love

  • My father Rupert Stewart was a successful business man owner of Pennoverland and Crystal ...AKA...the BLUE BIRD BUSSES in Jamaica. I came to Canada to live with my mother in 1978 when I was 9 years old.

I love Jamaica and it has added many beautiful memories to my life even as I still visit today.

We are a complex and simple people at the same time, co-habitating with the many different cultures that arrived in Jamaica each helping it to become what it has become.

One thing I know is that(1)
