A trip by Volkwagen to Murcia, the capital city of that region, in 1965. It has about half a million inhabitants. The river Segura runs thru the city. Its history goes back to Roman and Moorish times. The Moors called in Mursiya. The Cathedral Church of Saint Mary in Murcia was built between 1385 and 1467. Returning we called at the fisherman's city of Santa Pola which also dates back to Roman times and lies twenty kilometers south of Alicante.
