"When the President arrived in Australia the other day, he told the deputy prime minister, quote, "We're kicking ass" in Iraq. It is a clear sign that he intends to keep a massive U.S. military force in Iraq as long as he remains in office. And he will make it official Administration policy next week. We're kicking ass in Iraq might be the headline of the report the White House is writing for General Patraeus to deliver to Congress next week. It is supposed to be an objective military assessment, but the President has declared it will be a White House spin document."

  • Gotta LOVE all the bushCo. supporters who rush here to desperately try to 'shout down' common sense (something that has been going on for 7 long fuckin years now!) GIVE IT UP! Go back to 'free republic' (the most ironicically named website on the net) & jack each other off over bushCo's. "successes." Your idiot-boy p)resident has fucked up our Country beyond belief. WHAT KIND OF AMERICAN IS WILLING TO GIVE UP HIS FREEDOMS?

  • Enough is Enough! It's time for Congress to kick a little ass in Washington DC. If they don't the American people will kick at lot of ass when they come up for re-election.

  • That's true. In the run up to the war he traveled to Iraq to be a cheerleader for Saddam Hussein, a man who committed GENOCIDE against his own people. Now we find out Saddam Hussein paid for the trip.

If Saddam Hussein had been funneling me money, I'd probably oppose the war and President Bush too.

If given the choice of trusting McDermott/Hussein or Bush, I'll choose Bush, thanks!

  • And now it's time to vote for Obama.

  • I'm so glad we have Jim in the house.

  • Its funny now that the truth came out about this moron getting his trip paid for by Saddam when he visited Iraq.

  • It's time to IMPEACH Mrs. Speaker is what I say (or as it's known in congress, EXPELL).

  • Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., told a Seattle radio station Monday the U.S. military could have found Saddam "a long time ago if they wanted." Asked if he thought the weekend capture was timed to help Bush, McDermott chuckled and said: "Yeah. Oh, yeah."

fucking hack you keep supporting him

  • But how to excuse the behavior of McDermott? A member of U.S. Congress on enemy soil, declaring greater trust and faith in the enemy than in his own president!

  • No one has accused McDermott of being a mouthpiece for Saddam Hussein simply for financial reasons," wrote Hayes. "...McDermott has been saying stupid things for years with no evidence anyone has paid him to do so."

  • Last year, Vance and other Republicans labeled McDermott "Baghdad Jim" for comments he made during a trip to Baghdad that President Bush "would mislead the American people" but that Saddam could be trusted.

SEATTLE TIMES IDIOT and I live in the area

and its dumbass's like you that keep voting for this hack

  • you got that wrong, gismo. please supply a source for your accusation. i live in mcdermott's district and i follow him closely. he has never said that saddam was a nice guy. maybe limbaugh said he said that. supply a direct source or please be quiet.
