Mighty Midget Matt Serra faces Khamzat Vitaev in a fight with early Pancrase type rules in New York in 1998. Possibly the only MMA fight to ever air on ESPN.

  • а кто понации Khamzat Vitaev?

  • @scarred10 What is allowed in sparring depends on who is in charge not what martial art it is.

  • @scarred10 KK looks solid to me.. I train MT as well, but w/e.

  • @BootlegFightVideo kk has none of those allowed in sparring, they are in the kata nothing else.Anything not sparred with is useless under pressure.Even muay thai do not spar with elbows full contact, they do technical light contact elbows for timing and then full on pads.

  • @GribMurder he hs a black belt in kk,then tkd but most of his serious training was done in muay thai prior to joining pancrase, the reason he could fight was thai.Ive done some kyokushin, its not realistic without the head punch,it encourages tactics not sustainable in real fights ..

  • @BootlegFightVideo huh? well I know that in kyokushin tourneys, they can't punch to the face, but body punches are fine (wasn't that the same in pancrase as well)? I never knew hammerfists and elbows were allowed in kyokushin... perhaps trained, but not in tourneys.

  • @GribMurder Kyokushin absolutely stresses punches, hammerfists, backfists and elbows. It was early Pancrase that didn't allow closed fists so Rutten adapted.

  • @scarred10 rutten was a karate fighter, not really a grappler, and he did well. kyokushin doesn't allow closed fists, you go train with them or watch them fight and call it "pussified". you can still get KOed without punches.

  • @GribMurder take away punches and it gets pussified and different people win,the grapplers mostly.

  • @Robschach13 yes ,3 fights, its a pity he left it so late to get into real mma,his grappling would have to improve a lot to deal with the best.
