I was trying to get this character into the blender game engine, so I can trigger his animations by pressing keys on the keyboard.
I set up the lighting and shading so my toon is visible in the game engine. I also set up some logic bricks to trigger the animations.
When I start the game engine my character just stands in a static pose, the animations are either not triggering or the armature is not deforming the mesh...
I've tried with the armature as a modifyer, also armature modifyer and armature parent.. and also no modifier and armature parent... I can make any of these combinations work for standard animation but they all fail in the game engine :( please help with some tutorial links if you can...

  • You described the exact problem I'm having. I wish I could help you, but I'm stuck too.

If I don't find a solution soon, I'm going to go back to an older version of Blender for the time being.

  • @DGJerz OMG I got it working!!! I had to move the armature modifier up to the top of the modifier stack. The armature modifier must always be the top of the stack, all other modifier must be below it.

  • @LloydGod I tried your suggestion... sadly, it didn't work for me. I downloaded Blender 2.59, and it works fine. I load the same file into Blender 2.60 and 2.61, and it doesn't work. Oh, well.

  • @DGJerz blender is so weird sometimes..... I always end up having to follow 3 or 4 tutorials just to get through 1 tutorial, and half the time I figure it out by accident anyway. Best of luck on your projects.

  • seems the timing got sped up or something when i uploaded , he wasn't moving this fast in the original video.
