In the fight against cancer, every little bit matters. Duke Medicine's Radiation Oncology Clinic offers patients a more precise way to battle tumors with the Novalis TX system, the latest technology for radiosurgery to target brain tumors and other tumors.
Duke was the first in the world to offer this precision tool to patients.
John Kirkpatrick, MD, PhD, explains what the machine is and why it helps patients.

• I just completed the treatment of two metastatic brain tumors on this machine under the direction of Dr. Kirkpatrick. The treatment was totally painless, took one hour and 15 min., and started exactly on schedule. Dr. Kirkpatrick and his staff are wonderful.
If you have brain metastases, I highly recommend Duke and Dr. Kirkpatrick.

In Nov. 2008 ,I developed a tumor in the right temporal lobe of the brain. I was treated by Dr. Kirkpatrick, & the Novalis TX
Radiosurgery System at Duke . Dr. Kirkpatrick is the most wonderful doctor / oncologist that I have worked with during my journey with cancer. After meeting him for the first time ,my wife and I knew that there was no other doctor on earth that we wanted to treat my brain tumor.
If anyone ever wants to talk to me about
this treatment ,I will gladly talk to you.

This clip is very helpful for people who have just been told they need to have this treatment option..
Brain Cancer is a scary thing and clearing up treatment options by being shown more information at the same time is very very nice..
