Who is conspiring?

Your argument is insulting to a virtually imaginary party and persuades no one. Capital Punishment is not "actually well thought out", it has been carried into the present by tradition, some feel it is a tradition worth questioning and possibly modifying. There are alternatives at hand and an accumulating list of reasons to turn to them. Just keep your mind open and study your opponents before constructing a defense of your opinion.

The death penalty is actually well thought out criminal justice policy, as it removes form society only the very worst of killers, and defines the different types of murders in an ascending ladder of punishment.
