  • ahhh. invent the train is stupid. car is about control.

  • @iamstd2 I think the level of autonomy will depend on the roads you drive on. If such a car becomes mandatory it'll probably not let you drive in San Francisco or a packed highway during rush hour (it's not fun to drive in a traffic jam anyways), but It'll most likely allow you to have full control on rural highways while keeping a safety bubble so that you cannot crash even if you try on purpose.

  • It is stupid, you should let the users upload pictures of the places and that's it. Problem solved you don't need a car driving everywhere lol Google Noobs

  • "There was no driver in the caaar"

  • @Ilyak1986 In states where these cars have been legalized, drinking and driving is still illegal. Even if the computer is driving.

  • @MrRednijlad I'd say you'd subscribe to the vehicle service just like car share companies do now. So you'd use your keycard, so they wouldn't be stolen. Plus they'd have cameras

  • tey toook hurrr jobzzzz

  • They can build up a 3D model of the world just by driving down the street? Does this mean they could turn Google Street View properly 3D?

  • What happens when everyone's car is sending out these laser signals? Won't the reflection of other cars' sensors hinder the accuracy of your own? That's an issue that I think Google will need to figure out, but I have faith that they'll come up with a very elegant solution.
