"Oregon State Hospital in Salem, Oregon USA is the primary state-run psychiatric hospital in the state of Oregon. The facility is perhaps best known as the filming location for the Academy Award-winning film based on Ken Keseys novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (where the story took place)." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oregon_State_Hospital
The facility is currently slated for demolition so I snuck onto the grounds and video recorded as much as I could before I was asked to stop. Here is the result.

I had a relative committed there for a year and so I was able to get into the "belly of the beast," so to speak. Going in was like the opening of "Get Smart": huge door after door you had to go through to get into the habitated area. Once in it was fairly normal, rooms and dayroom, fenced in outdoor common area. The relative I spoke about was not allowed to smoke the whole time inside, as it was not allowed.

About a year ago there were a few tours offered inside the hospital (not of areas currently housing patients for obvious reasons). I inquired about my interest in the railroad the hospital used, and was able to get a brief tour in the basement tunnels. I have video I haven't yet posted for security reasons but will be uploading soon.

Needs sound. Like music or something.
Do you think it would be easy to get inside the hospital to look around?
