This is high definition footage of Fernando Verdasco hitting his forehand. The video was shot looking across the net at Fernando. The fantastic lighting provides a rare opportunity to see the players hitting inside the blizzard of felt they create when they strike the tennis ball. Also, notice how Verdasco keeps his eye on the ball all the way through contact.

  • is fernando using the windshield wiper forehand for all his shots in this clip?

  • for almost all of them he's using a windshield wiper. he has a reverse forehand in there as well.

  • i love your videos man!! keep em coming,

no love for david nalbandian ??

  • we didn't get nalbandian unfortunately. big miss.

  • This is a slow-motion too ;)

Is double speed real time ?

  • yes. the camera records high definition at 60fps, technically the same format as "Blu-Ray." If you capture 60 frames in a second, but then play those frames back at normal tv speed, 30 frames /sec, you end up with half-speed material that isn't actually "slowed down" if that makes sense.

  • @triplematchpoint Yep, this move is a fundamental of all the topspin at the moment. Without it your top spin is just a joke.

  • even in slow mo his racket head speed's faster than mine -.-

  • @Swordsman808 i have no idea what you just said.

  • @Swordsman808 well, its not like winning just comes naturally

some people are born with talent but you also need discipline to become a champion

  • @Swordsman808 another dilusional fed fan lol, always a sight. federers career was defined by beating nobodys like gonzalez, philiousiss, a 34 yr old agassi, roddick, hewitt, ferrero, nalbandian etc to get his slams. he and u should be thankful to nadal (and guys like djokovic, delpo, murray) cus atleast he gave the slams he got past 2007 some weight to it. as it is fed is goat yes, but even stevie wonder can see thats only a matter of time till its gone. accept it and move on, thats easier for u

  • @Swordsman808 as long as federer is its gonna be hard for anyone to catch a gs?? lol what age do u live in man? have u heard of this guy from mallorca maybe? he cought more than a few slams with federer standing on the opposite side of the next or watchin it on tv from his home. and tomorrow hes gonna add another one.

  • fernando u could b the future no. 1 in tennis

  • beautiful. i could watch this all day...

  • Well, it may be a mix- no professional tennis player got to where they are without hard work. I can see what you are saying, some people have more natural talent than others (this is what I lack). But even the ones with natural talent and the mindset of a champion have to work very hard to develop their talent, gain experience, and maximize their potential. Some who have natural talent will be overshadowed by hard workers because they have the determination that it takes to get that far.

  • True, very true. Federer is going to be tough for anyone to beat, and that's why he has won 16 slams so far- because he gets to the final every time.

And as for Agassi (have you read his book? It's a great read) I think that he learned his lesson from hitting rock bottom, and then worked harder and harder until he became a champion. Some people, like Federer, seem to have that champion instinct, but most people have to gain experience and play tons of matches to aquire that killing instinct.
