here are a few videos of my clio GT turbo, the car started its life as a 1.2 16v wimp and i had had enough of people overtaking me so i decided to make some changes so in went a RENAULT 5 GT TURBO PHASE 2 engine but this aint no ordinary engine...!!
i had the engine fully rebuilt by bb performance tuning to what they call their YELLOW SPEC ENGINE which is their bomb proof bottom end which can take 300bhp thrown at it, in it is included..
*KNIFE EDGED CRANK

*UPRATED BIG END SHELLS
*UPRATED PINS, PISTON RINGS,
*TITANIUM HL VALVE SPRINGS,

*GT HI SPEC CAMSHAFT (HENCE THE WEIRD IDLEING)
*FULLY LIGHTENED/BALANCED
*NEW TIMING CHAIN/VERNIER PULLEYS ETC ETC
my attention then moved to the head where i had a brand new head:
*GASFLOWED,
*PORTED AND POLISHED TO RACE SPEC
*1.9mm RACING HEAD GASKET
*ARP HEAD BOLTS AND BOLTS
then i moved on to the carb:
*GROUP N CARBURETOR,
WITH UPRATED VENTURI JETS FOR MAXIMUM FUEL FLOW
then the gear box was fully rebuilt and had to be modified to fit the car and added was a:
*PADDLE CLUTCH
*SEMI RACE SPEC FLYWHEEL
to draw the power i needed a good turbo, do i go for big and get lag or small with a serious kick? i decided to go in the middle and got a brand new TURBO built to spec:

*360 DEGREE THRUST BEARING

*CUSTOM MADE "PACE CHARGE COOLER" (ORIGINAL WOULDNT FIT)
*BMC CHAMPIONSHIP INDUCTION KIT
*MONGOOSE CUSTOM MADE TURBO BACK EXHAUST SYSTEM
*LOW TEMP THERMOSTAT TO RUN COOL
*UPRATED COOLING FANS
*FULL SAMCO HOSING
*BAILEY HEADER TANK AN OTHER GOODS

it has a very rare SUBTLE bodykit fitted by renault when i brought the car brand new, didnt want it to look tacky!
lost my original rev couter and most of my dash display so i fitted a proper tacho with shift light,

iv just finished running it in so i should be getting it set up in a few weeks on a rolling road but i already know what im going to get as my engine minus a few other goddies (different turbo) is in their demo car which made 348bhp! mine is a max of just over 300 bhp at around 27psi but i dont need that much and to make it last/reliable like a normal car i was advised to keet it around 250bhp-270bhp (20psi boost) for day to day driving and turn it up for santa pod!
the car is a monster an it only weighs around 900kg.. 300bhp/900kg, you do the mathes!! expected figures:
0-60= 5 seconds flat if not slightly under
top end= 140mph, (its still only a 1.4 lol)
1/4 mile= dunno but i know until 140mph i keep up with most supercars!
It REDLINES AT 8000RPM!!!! Making power almost all of the way!!
i spent alot on this thing as you can imagine, dont ask how much but its alot, i know the real enthusiast out there will appreciate what iv done, at the same time the jealous ones will leave silly comments.. but go ahead a magazine feature i have coming up tells me what i have!

updated: this is now my little play toy sitting in my garage (lol i grew up) i now/did have a 2004 BMW M3 convertible and a 400bhp impreza P1 for daily use.. 911 turbo coming soon so watch this space!
edit: 5 years on i now own the new e92 bmw m3 convetible and my impreza P1 with over 400 bhp..this thing has been locked away for 5 years with out use, i must get it sold sometime it still has only done 1500 miles :-)
Nice mate but if you knew anything about cars you would have spent half the money on a 172 and had 100x more fun. It just looks too "chavvy" to me, and i bet you didn't do an ounce of the work your self.

shows how dumb some people are.. a 172 weighs 150 kilos more then this for starters.. it then has a pitifull 172 horse power with no torque.. i have a gigantic turbo on mine with 100more bhp and double the torque. i think i and anybody else knows which is more fun mate and which is faster..
