@goback3spaces I couldn't help but feel sorry for her because of what she went through while she was there for the competition. From what I understand, it looked like she was under a lot of pressure to win or place well and she was up against some very accomplished players. She also had to deal with her teacher defecting and her not knowing what was really going on and having someone giver her a shot ect. That and having to be in a whole other country that she was not familiar with. Poor thing.

The Movie can be Purchased on E-Bay. It is however a DVD Burn from what i think was the Laserdisk version. But still it was worth it. But $18.00 I ever spent.

A beautiful movie.

Now that's what I call cooking!!!!!

It is... as most beatiful to watch being played as it is to hear!!!!

He's a brilliant pianist!
-
Unfortunately, Dreyfuss looks like a caricature of a real pianist while pretending to play... he didn't fool me 25 (more?) years ago, and he still doesn't today ;-)
-
Even Richard Dreyfuss is a better pianist than any of them nowadays!

I have found this movie available on Amazon.com but it is expensive. Can anyone upload it here?

I still say the uptight Russian chick should've won the competition.
Can you tell me where could I find the full version of the movie, please? I've searched for it everywhere on the internet and I guess there is no chance... Do you know a torrent where could I download it from? (preferably for free, but I am willing to pay for it, if there is no chance to find it for free... )
So, do you have any ideas?
Thank you in advance.
And thank you for posting this video.

The Competition was released on VHS and LaserDisc in the 1980s. However, to the best of my knowledge, it has never been issued on DVD, and I'm not aware of it being available from any other source.

That's superb! This is my favorite rendition of The Emperor, by far. I'd love to hear an unedited performance by Maestro Swiatkowski sometime. ^^
