Willow Street Thunderbolt Test. Carbondale, IL

The monthly test of the last Thunderbolt operated by the city of Carbondale, IL. (the other thunderbolt is operated by SIU and the city has control of it for tests and emergencies).
I will get new siren videos posted in HD as I have time to record the sirens (they are tested only once a month here).

There used to be another Tbolt at the LIFE center, but it was replaced with a $21000 WHELEN siren.

Anyways I think Carbondale used to have more Tbolts, and I am looking into that and getting pemission to photograph the old LIFE center Tbolt.

I like this chopper level setting the most cause it sounds like your going to die. Excellent vid.

I normally have mine set-up on an automatic timer, set to sound off every Saturday at noon for about 30 seconds, which is what the county does on clear weather days. Mine goes off regardless, but at least it's on the county's set test day/time. I actually own a Thunderbolt like this, and am in the process of restoring it, which will be run soon too for the Saturday tests.

Nope, this is the factory setting (Terminal 5) running on a 208V delta service with a 230V high leg. The one in Macon, GA was set up this way, and sounded exactly like this one.
