Why isn't it popular? Once upon a time, Sierra Madre had the stigma of having been written by a socialist (IE the theory of labor & value speech). However, the film has a neutral philosophy and deals with the theme of human nature, rather than any particular message.
Like str8carter said, the guy reviewing this old movie should at least know how to pronounce Walter Houston's name. My goodness, Walter Houston was a giant in his time. I'd hate to see what he would do with Clark Gable, perhaps it would come out as Clark Gabble. Or how about Sean Connery, would it be Seen Connery to him?
my favorite classic film

I like it now as much as I did in 1948..when movies had class. When movies had
style. And when movies did not dwell on vulgar language, sex, and violence.
I long for the days when it was a pleasure to go to a film with the family.
We can't do that anymore. Harry Potter means absolutely nothing to me. I didn't see it...nor do I intend to see it. Caio
