What a beautiful static test. Notice that the heavy concrete slab was pushed back by 5 cm. For this run I used a longer and heavier-walled PE fuel grain compared to run #7. The grain was improvised by pushing two tubes into each other, which resulted in a shaky assembly -- explaining the combustion instabilities. Also, two large pieces were thrown out towards the end of the run. And then again, it was still not heavy enough (only 222 g N2O from total 322 g were combusted). I already ordered a PE rod to make perfect fuel grains on a turning lathe for the next tests. I also need to replace the exhaust nozzle since it was completely burned up. The throat diameter increased from 5 mm to 8 mm. Next time I use steel instead of brass.
Oh, really nice! Keep going.
