Thank you, PBS! My local PBS station showed this great movie during early December of 1986. Before that year, I hadn't seen this marvelous flick since I was a kid. I spent my grandmother's last Christmas season (1986) on earth with this great movie. My grandmother met Jimmy Stewart just before he went to war. She said he was a fantastic guy! Thank you, Frank Capra, for this great bit of Americana -- a Norman Rockwellian look back at post-WWII America! A Merry and Hopeful Christmas 2011 to all!

I always break down when George's brother says "To my big brother--the richest man in town"--the whole outlook of the film is in those few words.

every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings
This is how I feel this week after my house burned down last Thursday and my church and community inundated me with love and generosity. I am grateful beyond explanation.
