How do you find your friend code on this game? (I can't find mine)

From Start Menu: Go to Nintendo Wifi Connection > Manage friend roster Look at the top screen, your code will be up there.

I can't find "Nintendo WiFi Connection" or the "Manage friend roster"...

what "start menu" is it under? When you just put the game in or when you go online? I don't see these under either of them.
