  • @yankeesxsuck344 I know that horrible feeling all too well. I was actually impressed with how they came back to send it to OT. Despite their disappointment, they should be proud of their effort that day. I know that my crew and I had nothing but praise for both teams.

  • @CTZippy Zippy you guys definitely made the right call. I go to Staples and know a bunch of the players and they know and admit that it was a fumble. The only thing they are upset with is the fact that they waited until the state championship to play their worst game of the year.

  • I can truly understand the kids from Staples wanting to believe he was down. I also played, and know how it feels to lose a heartbreaking game. All I have are the facts as I know them, along with confirmation from people, including CIAC representatives, who were on the Cheshire side (opposite angle of this video). They all insisted that the ball was out before anything other than a hand hit the ground.

  • I understand the kids from Staples wanting to believe that he was down, but from what I was told from CIAC representatives on the visitors' (Cheshire) sidelines, they saw a fumble.

  • @CTZippy yea, thats pretty much as good a call as you can make. i am from staples and kids from my school say he was down but after hearing that you seem pretty adamant that it was a fumble. and it is very hard to make a prefect call because the lack of instant replay, so i give you guys to benefit of the doubt and agree with the call. and i dont really think you could of reversed the call after how chersie reacted too haha

  • @speranzayaya Hard to say, to be honest. From my position as referee, I'm behind the offense, so the ball carrier was running away from me. What I do know for a fact is that my umpire, who had the play coming toward him, threw his bean bag onto the ground before the pileup, which signified that he saw a loose ball at that spot. The next thing I noticed was the umpire running toward the pile, pointing in the other direction.

  • @CTZippy how close was matt kelly close to being down?

  • Any official's desire is to administrate, but not become part of the action. I am confident we achieved that goal.

  • I am proud to have been the referee (white hat) in this game. Amazing finish.

  • great
