Ok so I wanted to make a few short videos answering some of the individual things creationists and non believers in evolution often try to use to disprove or discredit it.
The Thing I will be discussing in this video is the question But if evolution is a fact then why is it called the theory of evolution.

The answer to this is relatively simple but it is also easy to be drawn in by people who use this example.

Firstly evolution is not a theory it is a fact, just as gravity is a fact. The theory is the explanation of how the fact takes place.

For instance Einsteins theory of general relativity explains gravity; Gravity is the fact general relativity the theory.

So the theory of evolution by mutation and natural selection refers to the explanation of how evolution takes place, evolution is the fact mutation and natural selection is the theory and the most likely explanation of how evolution takes place.

The people who use this argument simply show their lack of research and understanding of evolution and its theory but hopefully I have answered this question for you and you can simply ignore anyone who makes this statement.

all you really need to say is that within the scientific method, theories explain a lot more than scientific laws. theories are supported by facts and truth. normal people dont think scientifically therefore they see the word theory as meaning a guess or inclination towards something being true. luckily all of humanity prospers from the people who dont allow the shortcomings of their own logic steer them in a direction to believe in an imaginary friend. lucky to live in a time of great knowledge

There are no limits to some peoples ignorance. I read a scary statistic which said that in 1999 1 in 5 Americans believed the sun orbited the earth.

There is just no excuse.

I don't know what you mean with "first mamels". I'm sure, all of known animals classes where created all in the same time. Many of them already extincted, so like many dinos, mammoths etc. Some of them were "extended" by humans, there were new types of cats and dogs created, but they are always the same class, it was never changed...
