  • And the world is not overpopulated. We can fit the entire world population on Rhode Island.

  • The beginning 15 seconds are hilarious. Way to go father! I do despise the ecological apostasy as much as you do.

  • @Twycross Please don't mistake what I'm saying for a 'doomsday prophesy'!

Think of the world in the context of recorded history. How fast has the population grown? How fast has the demand on natural resources grown? Now think ahead a few decades. If you think everything is going to be rosy, then I'd say think again. That's all.

  • @finlarg Not saying we shouldn't improve the situation. Just saying the doomsday prophecies have happened before and will continue to happen.

  • @Twycross Getting off? What are you talking about?

I predict a bleak future which will not be helped by the demands of 7 billion people on the earth's resources.

Of course everyone could be fed, watered and accommodated comfortably if resources were used more efficiently and distributed more fairly - but that's unlikely to happen in a hurry. So meanwhile, why not try to improve the situation we're in by being prudent and planning for tougher times ahead?

  • @finlarg We don't inhabit most of the world and grow an abundance of food. There's nothing to "warn" anybody about. It isn't as if tomorrow we're going to run out of food instantly. People that get off on this doomsday type stuff are pointless.

  • @Twycross I'm not freaking out, but I question your estimate that the earth could sustain a human population of 210 billion. Have you thought this through?

If you cannot grasp the concept that infinite growth within the confines of a finite world is unsustainable, then so be it. But don't say no-one warned you.

  • @finlarg We always hear this non sense that we're all going to starve and yet we have an over abundance of food and resources on this planet. In the 1970s it was speculated that by the 1990s we'd all be dead and here we are. If you want to freak out by all means go ahead but i'm going to live in sanityville for a while longer.

  • @Twycross 30 times the current global population? To feed 210 BILLION people would require several planet's worth of natural resources! Where do you get your figures from?

  • @albval1 You might be able to fit them all there with standing room only, but they couldn't survive for more than a few days. Just think of the sanitation, food, shelter and drinking water requirements. Totally unsustainable - in other words, it's a non-argument!

  • @albval1 It'd be crowded like you wouldn't believe though. 6.5 billion people in 1,045 square miles. That' about 6.5 million people per mile.

  • I thought it was funny at the beginning. God bless.
