At my college in 1970, there was a houseful of girls some of whom I dated, that played and turned me on to her. In fact one of them told me all the words to Stony End which I could never quite figure out. So her music is both great to listen to and provide pleasant, cherished memories.

This was one of my favorites from her first album. She was a true artist and I loved her!

Congratulations on induction into the rock n roll hall of fame!!!!

Beautiful, sweet, romantic tune from the Legendary Lady. If I were Joe, I would never have left her!

This and Lazy Susan are my favorite songs form this album. Exceptionally crafted, especially the lyrics.

It's a good song but not some hidden gem. the hidden gem is Praise the Country or something like that... I just wish she were a little more subtle and her songs sounded less like musicals but then I still love her.

"Like a sunrise that rose without warning/We walked on a Manhattan morning" What a sense of wonderment!

My first love's name was Joe. I wrote the words on my notebook. He found the notebook and laughed. I was mortified!

I am just passionate about Laura Nyro's music.Just hope she finally gets in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She is one of the greatest songwriters of all time and her voice has such a wonderful quality. She passed on much too early at 47 and wish she could been around in my whole lifetime. I miss seeing her at the Bottom Line and Central Park. At least I can listen to my own recordings and what I have on You Tube. Goodbye Joe is one of her most touching.
I've been listening to her since 1968 and I still love her. God bless her soul.

This song has so much special significance being a Harlem tune which is where I am from.
I love the beautiful changes in this song and Laura's voice is gorgeous.
I loved her so much and am heart broken that she is no longer here to create such gorgeous fare.
