It's a disgrace they didn't let David use his
natural accent - so much more authoratitve and charming than the 'cockney sparra' joker he was forced into playing.

I think that was Russell T Davies' idea for DT not using his accent in Doc Who, I think he wanted David to use the same accent as he did in Casanova.
