You would be surprised how many ppl don't know about this tool, It has saved my ass many times before, I snapped a intake manifold bolt on my bosses truck. Drilled and and had it out in about 15 mins. He couldn't believe it was that simple. lol

I figured out why this was so hard for me accomplish, I did not have drilling oil on hand. as counterintuitive as it seems oil actually helps the drilling process . other than that it was actually really easy. the first time this happened the reverse twist drill bit pulled it right out of the hole.

The spiral extractors are worthless, the expand the broken off fastner too much and it gets worse to get it out.The straight flute extractors are better

I have used both styles, they have there pluses and minuses. Most of the time I will weld a nut on top of the broken remains. But not every one has access to a good welding machine.

I'll tell you, most of the time it is not that easy. Many times I will plug weld a nut to whats left of the broken bolt or stud.
