Johnny Reb lost because he couldn't stand against the industrialised North throwing it's immigrant conscripts at him. And Im a yankee saying that. What do we have now? @lazer1million Lowpoint of my career is when we were training with another btry over there and they have a negligent discharge of a 155. A 155. A fucking 155mm Howitzer. Hit a local policeman's house killing all inside (i.e. him and his family). the E-6 running that gun-line got an article 15 and lost a months pay.

@lazer1million it wasn't about oil so much as Iraq trying to sell their oil in euros. The dollar under attack as the world reserve currency. If it ever lost that status, it would be detrimental to our economy. Still a bunch of bullshit though right? Since when do we fight wars over money and monetary policy? @BullshipDetector Only 5% of Southerners owned slaves most of whom gave prominent positions to their offspring oftentimes freeing them. In fact, I just finished a book called "Black Slave Owners", many emancipated slaves both mixed race and not owned slaves themselves. If a free slave could "pass" for white, they were oftentimes accepted to white socierty. My GGG-Grandfather was a "mulatto" slave owner. Slavery is bullshit, but way more complcated than what you describe.
