I shot these clips this afternoon and edited them into this short piece this evening. As the film developed I felt the wind turbine started to feel like a giant clock overseeing time as peoples lives happened around it.

As a lot of the clips were of people going about there lives in various situations the film began to be about making the time to do the things we love as it does not stop and wait for us.

I really enjoy making these short emotive films in a single day, I guess it's more like painting or photography than traditional film making as my creations happen so quickly, but that's one of the ways I make the most of my time, and I love doing it.

The footage was shot at Castle Acre and Swaffham, both in North Norfolk, UK.

Camera: Sony PMW-EX1
Music: Biffy Clyro // Diary of Always
Edit: FCP & Magic Bullet

  • Do what you love, love what you do. Thanks for posting.

  • YOur aspect ratio looks wider than the usual 16:9. Is that a camera setting, or some generator in your editing software? I like the wider aspect, ane I'm wondering if the file comes out like that, or if there is some letterboxing going on.

Love the cam man! I'm getting one when I get another 2 grand together. I can't stop thinking about it. EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1-EX1...
