First composition for the intro of the famous movie called "Blade Runner". Ready-made sound samples and loops are used to create it. Done as a course project for the class called "Sound and Image" in Sabancı University.

  • Bad idea trying to improve on the most perfect intro ever.

  • Can u please state your idea then?

What do you mean by saying "bad"?

  • Bad meaning the opposite of good. My idea would be to not alter the film in any way, and express yourself by creating your own work from scratch.. or editing an imperfect scene from another film.

  • Is bad opposite of good? Oh really :)

This was a class project and the instructor was delighted about what i have done (also the other soundtrack for the same scene) for this scene.

Do you hate it because you just hate it or do you have some claims that can be explained further in academic or musical terms?

  • @does14 How can perfection be improved upon. I think that is what people mean. Also, this movie is so engrained into people's lives, it would be like taking your sweet little grandmother and dressing her up as a whore. The sheer shock of it would stun you. This clip is not bad, in terms of experiments.

  • @Tigerlilly0777 I see what you mean but I don't totally agree with you. I don't think this experimental project ruins "the perfect image" of the movie. I think people still remember the movie with wondrous soundtrack made by Vangelis.

I appreciate your comment. Thank you for providing feedback.

  • People are very skeptic about this because it is a real movie and a favorite one of many people.

But i think this sounds very badass... weldone... I never saw the movie and first i tought this was the original intro (i didnt read the description yet). I downloaded it and was disapointed when I didnt hear this intro. So props man. welldone

  • Decent, but needs the environmental noise and the sound of the skimmers for proper comparison. I think the directors cut is actually better than the final cut (like the Roy meets Tyrell scene more), and any notion of a remake is absurd.

  • Play the Final Fantasy VII intro and then watch this intro,I guess, the team of Squaresoft liked the movie ; )

  • This was good, but the thumps take away from it. I would mute the thumps some, the better for them to fit into the overall "quiet" feel of the other synth.

I do agree that it sounds a bit generic, though if this was a class project, that's understandable. You still have much to learn (as do I, I might add). Other than that...good work!

  • get the thumps out, it sounds awful

  • Well actually, I think it's good, but IMO only, i would keep the thumps ups to when you see the cityscape.

  • I think good try but my reaction was just "mehh" Its good and goes quite well with the films setting but for me is too generic, it feels like it could be applied to any vague period in the future. The music also doesn't respond well to the visual, which I admit is very difficult to do. I think this a solid base for continuing life in muisc though. Good luck with future projects

  • are you forgetting when this movie was made?
