@SuperRuthieo Guess I'm a Brit you can't speak for. I like this version better.

May I just say for all us Brits out there that Steeleye Span covered the best version of this sea shanty, though this is a good version aswell, but Steeleye Span are still the best in my eyes! I suggest you listen to some of thier songs, if you haven't already that is! ;-)

I'm 'easy' both versions, this and the one by Steeleye Span are beautiful, as is the haunting song lyrics.

What gorgeous scenery you give the viewers!
Sure, Steeleye Span's version was the first version I heard, but three female voices in harmony make a beautiful sound here.

OH MY GOODNESS

Brilliant song, but not a sea shanty. It's a landsman's song with origins in the south of England, and it's typical of English folk songs where two characters dispute, often a man wooing a girl. The sailor character here is used because of a tar's unsavoury reputation amongst landsmen.

I agree...this is their best song in my opinion. The beautiful images are also nice to see while listening to this amazing song :)

@SuperRuthieo Thanks for the suggestion. The version point out is really, really good. Slightly different, great instrumentals and pacing. I wish it had the harmonies that this version had. Thanks again!
