  • wow is that really faaaaaaat yellow one a chagoi??? holy shit thats fat

    lol

  • I know it takes forever for your koi to trust you since they have to be comfortable and use to you. So what if you relocate your pond and move the fish. Will the fish trust start all over or will they remember you? i am rebuilding a new bigger pond but i just dont want them to run away when i walk by like how when I first got my kois.

  • that is sooooooo cool

  • @MyChemicalFruitCake No probs... Don't worry too much about the radiation. If you want to keep the tank there, go for it. :)

  • @Jamesee777 Thanks. I'm trying to find space in my home for a 55g. The spot next to the window/balcony is our only option. However its also right next to the TV too.... I'm scared for them because of radiation from the TV.

  • @Jamesee777 little ones are too hard to predict. Bottom line, to have nice deep colour, sun light is required. Food certainly takes into account too. From what I read, it is not a guaranteed to bring back deep colour a koi once had. To truly enjoy koi, they need a pond and to be viewed from above. Anyhow, enjoy the little ones in your tank... Don't let it out grow your tank. :P

  • @MyChemicalFruitCake Having a tank next to the window is not really a problem. The only concern is it can promote excess algae growth which does not harm the fish anyway, just cosmetics. The little ones changing colour or shine is just part of growing up. Koi will go through colour/pattern changes as they grow. When koi are around 10-12", it is easier to guess how they'll develop in the future... it's not an exact science...

  • @MyChemicalFruitCake Not that I have my tank next to the window that is.... I'm just saying that if it doesnt kill it then I could possibly supper upgrade my tank....

  • @Jamesee777 Really? They needed sun for the color? o____O I live in an apartment and I KNOW I know... kois are strictly pond fish.... But I have little ones. One of the little ones their color is actually fading. It was originally metal yellow. Now there's hardly any shine. However isnt keeping your tank next to the window a bad thing? I mean wont it kill the fish or are kois different?

  • @Nsx25 Not necessarily. The colour you see i video is due to florescent lighting and only powered on ~6 hours a day or sometimes not at all. The ones I sold, went to outdoor ponds and wow, the colour actually came back on some after 1 summer. Very impressive.
