Got a reman tranny a month ago and am deciding whether or not I like it. It is under warranty and acts flaky sometimes. The clutch was replaced with a Luk gold repset which is a lot better and I recommend it. It's a bit heavier than the OEM clutch but I only turned 97K on it and plan on putting at least that much more on it.

@alwaysopen change the counter-shaft bearing and the Torque shaft bearing. that'll work..

@rev2redcom i guess it's not the TOB.. it's the counter-shaft bearing and the Torque shaft bearing. If that's the TOB, noise should come when we press the clutch. But this it's vice-versa. I greased the TOB but made no difference.. looking forward to change the counter shaft and torque shaft bearing.. hopefully it'll work.. (fingers crossed)

i hate this noise. i have it on my mustang. i wish a little wd40 and 10 seconds would fix it but i probably have to remove the transmission. =c
slave cylinder!

@billyzkool1
Slave cylinder?! Why in the world would the slave be making that noise? If the slave was making that noise, that would suggest that it has no presusre behind it and is rattling in the fork...clutch wouldn't operate very well in this case, if at all.
The noise IS/WAS the TOB rattling on the fork. The trans was dropped, the TOB was greased where it rides on the fork and reinstalled; the noise is no longer.

@sparrowkingx - see the comments for the video, but I simply greased the pivot point of the fork and the tabs the TOB rides on with brake caliper grease. The noise was the TOB vibrating on the fork because there was no grease used whatsoever, other than on the input shaft, when installing the clutch. The noise would go away when pressed because the force held the TOB in place.

Also where did you grease the parts specifically?

@Renpolo
The only place I had grease was the input shaft where the TOB slides on, according to the manual that was incorrect. After this video was taken I had replaced my clutch and applied White MolyB Grease to the splines of the input shaft, the "tabs" of the TOB that contact the fork, and the pivot point of the fork, the noise is no longer.
