Guys this is great! Who is the 162 couple?
-
@seravi Just thought I would add... And you are correct in the fact the "BOUNCE" is in the knee. But Samba Bounce is created by the compression and straightening of both the knee and ankle of the leg supporting most of the weight of the body!

@blittster well said... i compete in ballroom and latin and dance salsa at clubs too :)

@JuhBlah, i agree with u about the new style dance in samba today not only the bounce is missing but also the Tick and the rhythm through out the complete body. and I think certain judges agree with us I think that's why u saw certain couples placed before other couple that u may like. the judges were looking for the purist.

i love the dancing in this video you could really see the professionalism and dedication of the participants, precision of the movements are well executed.

@mistykitten1 "Bounce" is in the knee. Now a day, the bounce has been absorbed into the hips, that's all. Bounce is still a Samba characteristic.

@AhOngLoveToDAnce : "Love Potion Number 9" -Mike Pender
With that said, people on these posts need to recognize AND ACCEPT the fact that yeah, International Style Latin Ballroom is not typically danced by many hispanics, and that's OK. Social latin dances (salsa, merengue, cumbia, bachata, etc) and latin ballroom dances are not the same, so get over it. Respect them both... any good dancer will. They have different purposes, and typically different audiences. I dance salsa at the clubs and latin ballroom at the competitions, and it's good.
