Forex trends - What they are and how to use online forex trading trends

In terms of Forex trading the term Trend generally refers to direction of the price has followed relative to where it has been over a period of time.

Therefore the concept of trend has 3 elements.
Starting point
Direction of movement from that starting point to where it is now
Over a period of time.

Examples of incorrect references to trend or trends are
"The trend on the 4 hour chart is down" -- Better would be "The trend over the last 3 days (for example) has been down" (Starting point relative to the current position clearly defined)
"What is the trend of the EURUSD currently?" -- Better would be "What is the trend of the EURUSD over the last day (or month or year etc)".
"You should always trade with the trend" -- Better would be "You should always trade in the direction of the 5 day (for example) trend" Here you have given a starting point and direction relative to the current price.
