@jimibezwik That's the way I interpret it. What are the parts that are so wrong?

your really good man, but if you want to educate people, do it the right way, you probably just made a lot of learning drummers learn the wrong stuff

I like that "Loud and Proud". I agree with you on the legend bands getting it very close to the pocket. That is what others are mostly looking for. I give about a 10% leeway for personal style but staying on beat has to be 100%. Heck if you listen to alot of live versions of the same song by the same drummer it is amazing how often they play it differently from the studio version. It is hard to even duplicate yourself exactly from one take to another.
Rock on brother !!!!!!

A lot of drummers want us to play the song note for note, and i can do that for the most part, but if i cant inject my own peronality and style into the song i dont want to play it, a movie sound track can be improvised to the max, but covering Zeppelin or Rush or any other ledgend bands the song must be very accurate note for note or close to in the pocket. Just my opinion:)
Play it loud and proud!
well, i feel that you have proven me wrong, so i do give my deepest apologies. and as one of my favorite drummers (Chad Smith) say "dont play the same song twice" so i defiantly encourage you to make more videos. and thank you for educating me on how to look things in perspective more.

@jimibezwik Hey it's not about proving you wrong. I respect your outlook on covers. I really do. I also respect those that play difficult covers almost exact to the studio version because it takes a tremendous amount of time, dedication and skill. There are some covers that I have tried to do that on such as carry On My Wayward Son, I Ain't The One, Flirting With Disaster to name a few. They aren't perfect. I respect all of your comments. I encourage critiquing and comparison so thanks....Nick

not trying to argue with you, but for begginers sake dont put educational purposes down next time dude.

@jimibezwik I disagree. I have had several drummers thank me because they were having trouble figuring out a way to play a cover and my video helped them immensely. It all depends on how you want to look at it. There is more than one way to "skin a cat" so to speak and they are all educational. Each drummer also has a unique style and I like to see that a bit in covers. That is just my personal opinion. You look for extreeme exactness in every way . I respect that and agree with you to a point

the begining fill is an 8th note pattern rl(snare)rl(high tom)rl(mid tom)rl(low tom) all around the kit on a five piece. u just have a four so thats not your fault, on every other measure ur trying 2 play the guitar hits like u have to accent them. theres no sixlet or any kind of fill between the first verse and chorus. the 1 and 3 and hit on the rock and roll hoochie koo is on the snare and floor tom it dosent alternate. thats just some things i picked out in the 1st 45 secs.

@jimibezwik Wow you are really picking the song apart. That is impressive but in my opinion a cover doesn't have to be exact. As long as your interpretations highlight the main licks of the song I don't care what a drummer is hitting. In fact sometimes it may sound better. Educational purposes doesn't imply to drum it exact to the cover. You didn't mention the words critiquing and comparison that are in the same sentence. This is what you actually did do to the cover and that is great !!!
