Chinese New Year Splendor: Dream of All Girls

Among the audience at Radio City Music Hall's last Chinese New Year Splendor performance was supermodel, Katja Shchekina. She's was pleasantly surprised that she was able to see a performance on traditional Chinese culture right here in New York City.
Dolce & Gabbana, Juicy Couture, Bergdorf Goodman, Russian super model Katja Shchekina has modeled for all of them. But tonight she says the flowing costumes presented in the Chinese New Year Splendor are the 'dream of all girls.'

[Katja Shchekina, Russian Super Model]:
And I really like dancing with sleeves. So its the dream of all girls. Its cool, its flowing, its amazing. All those kinds of fabrics which flowing I love it. Its a dream

And she would know. Shchekina has worked with many of the biggest names in fashion: Givenchy, Baby Phat, Oscar de la Renta, Adidas, Neiman Marcus, and more.

She has also graced the cover of Russian magazines. But she says she's excited to get a taste of Chinese culture.

[Katja Shchekina, Russian Super Model]:
"This show is so different from others, because its so Chinese, so thats what I like about it. Its really Chinese, so thats what I was saying I like the music, the instruments, the Chinese traditional instruments, its amazing and so different I love it. Its so interesting."

Shchekina also said that although she's an international fashion super model, she's never been to China. And she's excited to see the traditional dress and culture of China.

"I mean this is amazing. Its nice to see other cultures even Chinese, because Ive never been there. So its nice to see it in New York. Imagine, like Im here. I mean, Russia is much closer to China. Yeah, I like it a lot. Its good to see other cultures, you have to see it once from like even different cultures and different traditional. So, Im kind of happy that they came here."
