Alright every1, ritchelli here,or for those of you who know me personally just plain richie.................................. ........................................ .......................... Welcome to my page. I've tried to sit down stacks of times and write a real slick L.A style bio and sound very rock n roll but each time it falls on its knees and sounds pretentious,dishonest and fake.(hence goin away from the L.a thing) Anyway enough of what I was gonna do, I was born in dublin,ive lived here all my life. I started out as a real Dublin inner city kid in a place called Mercer House. Most 4 year olds play cops n robbers for fun,well we played rob the hand bag and threw stones at cars from the top balcony lol(little shits,butter wouldn melt eh?). After a few years of that me ma and da had the cop on to say right lets get outta here,we moved to Tallaght in Dublin where until now ive stayed. Ive played in a few bands over the years and of course we where gonna be famous every time I started a new one.Infact when I was younger every time I sat down to write a tune it had to be a hit and I think that got in the way of me actually just writin what was in me head. The difference this time around was that after kinda givin up on the idea of success musically,I wrote just for fun or sanity or just cause it was in me and had to come out somehow so when I wrote I didn't have this pre-conception of what a song should be and sound likeand as soon as ye figure this out you almost immiediately enjoy it more and naturally your songs seem to be more real,to me thats what makes a good tune something real that people go"ye i know what ye mean"................................... ........................................ ........................................ .... I believe that once I don't get too wrapped up in getting a deal and what people think and just enjoy it,I'll be fine and do well.That doesn't mean I don't want it as much as the next fella, I do,they're just the terms on which I do it and if for some reason I ever stop feeling this way I'm stopping.But I wont! I didn wanna go out using my full name cause I thought na....sounds too singer/ songwriter....not that theres anything wrong with singer/songwriters its just that I don't see myself as one. Sure,I sing and write songs and as a solo artist I do do acoustic solo gigs but I also have a band that backs me most of the time and they rock. Theres not much what people would deem singer/songwriter once we hit the stage. Although I've written me fair share of ballads essentially my tunes would be rocky, bluesy and sometimes acoustically orientated.Although like most musicians and songwriters I hate being bracketed as one thing or another. I'd rather you listen and just enjoy it instead of sayin twenty seconds into the tune it f**ckin rocks but it's a bit like oasis or zeppelin or whatever. So when it came to pickin names I thought about changin me second name to sound a bit slicker like Richie springsteen or something (bad example i know) ye get the idea but again dishonest,fake etc.. not for me I came up with ritchelli....... im richie and me daughters name is elly The old and the new..... ritchelli............................... ............................Anyway over n out for now give a listen,spread the word and come see me play I'll buy ye a pint...promise!!!
