Showing the pulp was the best part. I understand now what to look for. Thank you so much and my dogs thank you too!

i just wanted to say that I really appreciate this video! I just started working as a vet assistant and I've been very nervous to do nails on dogs because I can't tell how much to take off and where the quick is. This really helped and I like how you explained about the pulp, because I did not know that at all. Thanks!

Does the quick always stay the same size, even when the nail gets really big?

@panblicharski The quick always stays proportional to the nail.

Dremel? Are you out of your mind? The grinding action generates heat, making the procedure verrry uncomfortable.

@N0cdar Sounds like you have had some experience. I recommend you try a professional as they are trained to watch for the heat.

Question: I was told by a neighbor that if you clip your dog's nail at the quick and it starts to bleed a little, you can use corn scratch or flour to seal and heal. Is that safe and okay?

@Harlowsimms99 Yes, that's perfect information. Its safe to use as long as its not dirty. In other words, if its clean enough to eat, its clean enough to use on the nails.
