Great work, and I read in the comments you've recently done 305? That's outstanding. If I may: the looking left is likely due to a weaker left grip strength as well as the supinated grip, which will start a chain reaction up the left kinetic landscape - the biceps and pec engage harder, pulling the scapula forward and the right SCM engages to cross-brace, which rotates your head left. That's what I could gather from the video, at least. I didn't find a video of the 305, if you have it I'd love

@TheAscendant Thanks for the insight on looking to the left! I just uploaded the 305 video...pardon the atrocious lifting form. :) This is from a competition last spring in which we were given 10 minutes to find our 1RM. Since then, I have achieved 315 (which you'll see I fail twice in this video)

It won't let me link to the video in a reply...interesting. It's called Terri CrossFit Regional 2010.m4v

inspiring performance,, wondering about the apparent habit of looking to your left while under load
stsgabe 1 year ago
@stsgabe Funny you should mention that...we were just analyzing the same thing last week. Will have to check the competition 305 lb video and see if the same habit appears! :-)

great lifting, i have one question are you deadlifting in running shoes? if so try switching to converse's or lifting shoes with flat shoes you might be able to progress a little faster and lift more. the shoes your lifting in absorb some of the force you apply to your heels when lifting. just a thought that might help out

@fubu30086
nope...not technically. those are very flat nike free's, about equivalent padding to a chuck taylor. thanks for lookin' out!
