Why did they combine Up and Up in the air together?

@hnoss13 The acting was so poor in Avatar, none of the actors deserved anything.

Should've been:
Picture: Avatar
Director James Cameron
Actor: Colin Firth (the least voted, ironically)
Actress: Meryl Streep
The Supporting Roles were right.

the Oscars were horrible this year.

Anyone who thought Avatar would win was way behind the times. The Hurt Locker was the frontrunner since December. The only win Avatar ever got was from the Golden Globes, an awards telecast voted on by just 80 people who are known for picking popular choices (see Julia Roberts' nomination and The Hangover's win this past ceremony).
Don't think, though, that I mean to bash Avatar. I preferred it over The Hurt Locker anyway. Avatar was my #2 of all of 2009, just behind Fantastic Mr. Fox =)

It's becoming rather obvious Hollywood awards are based upon political correctness. The "Hurt Locker" won because Hollywood had to award the first female directory oscar. I am going to make a movie next year with a female gay albino native american director. The movie will win an oscar because, "there has never been an oscar awarded to a lesbian indian with white hair" before.

excuse me but if your talking about politics, Avatar would have benefited more then The Hurt Locker:
Reason 1) The best picture would have been awarding Avatar for how much money it has given the industry
Reason 2) It would have been vindication for trying to prove that 3D does work and the best picture would encouraged more films to have been shot in 3D (which is a farce to get your money to get rid of the issue of piracy)
