Travel down Florida's Wekiva River with Green Deane and learn about the edible plants that grow in or near the river, wild food where it grows.

  • Forager Officinalis? You don't see those everyday...

  • @celticgaurdian1400 Ha ha... I should redo that video with a better camera... maybe duing the holidays.

  • I happen to be in love with a girl pretty close to that stream. She has been beckoning me to Florida. LOL And now you show me this wonderful footage? I have the feeling I will try the; 'Three Times's A Charm' proclamation. Thanks a lot Deane! I thought I was done. LOL Just goes to show, how a harmless instructional video can/may end in "Holy Matrimony'. Hehehehe . I will invite you to the seemingly inevitable wedding. I wish to hire you as caterer. :-). I expect 'Water Cress' & much more. LOL

  • Besides my son kayaking all over Florida is the my greatest joy in life. So much life it's truly the Beaty of Florida. Blue sky's and dragonflys.

  • Very nice, it is amazing how up front the wildlife is on this river when paddling.

  • That was absolutely marvelous! - The underwater footage was a real pleasant surprise!

I'm going backwards in your video library, so this is my 96th "EatTheWeeds" video.

Until now, I would have sworn that the adage "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" was accurate. I say "until now", because going down this beautiful little river with you, I surprised myself, by actually knowing what most of those plants were! Not the scientific name, but the common name or reference.

    Thank you, Mr. Jordan!

  • @fallencypress Food is where the water is. By the way, I have a class in Ocala this Sunday. Details on my website.
