Bingo. A law needs to be passed that old Sesame Street animations and whatnot cannot be tampered with. They wouldn't be getting away with this crap is Jim Henson were alive.

I remember another cartoon with the letter P in which a stylised letter P appears at the end accompanied by gongs.

Actually they did some testing, first had kids watch with the original music. Part of them ran screaming from the room, the rest instantly began snoring. Then they ran a loop of the clip with "improved" music, and all the kids were glued to the monitor, refusing food or sleep for as long as 48 hours. It was uncanny. Great post!

There was a third version of this as well, with rock music and a male voice narrating the "Ps".
