  • Not a single word about the British and Canadian troops that also fought and died on D-Day. WHY?

  • I'm a 20 year old French girl and I truely thank all the soldiers who came here to save our country and who died for our freedom as well. They will always be remembered for their bravery and their sacrifice!

We'll never forget you, we'll always be extremely grateful for what you did! :)

Merci à tous ces soldats qui nous ont libérés!

  • @Manfromelpaso because USA always takes all honours.... they are false saints

  • @tbarn9

And what is this war on terror crap ? Europe is not under islamist terror. War in Afghanistan is only to control oil and gas ressources. That's the point. And Iraq was a total disaster. Almost 4500 US troops killed, and a country in total chaos after 9 years of US occupation. For what ? Maybe, you should come in the real world, and stop to be brainwashed by Hollywood stuff, and Neocons propaganda.

  • @tbarn9

I suggest you to open the right history books. US WW1 intervention was useful, but a minor part. US troops came the last year of this war, losing only 120000 troops; while the French held the front almost alone from 1914 to 1918, losing 1,4 million killed and 4,5 million woundeds, for a population of 40 million. Entire generations. Main WW1 battles were won by the French, like VERDUN, in 1916, which is considered as the greatest battle ever, with almost 1 million casualties.

  • @Manfromelpaso NO FRICKEN KIDDING. My brethren had their OWN beach and the british had TWO that makes THREE... Rip Common wealth, you will be remebered

  • @tbarn9 you USA were in both wars you played a major part but no 1 country won this war on there own the battle of britain was the first battle Hitler lost on the beaches on d day 3 of the 5 did not have us troops on the point i am making is many countries stood together to bring peace in both wars

  • @morejitas

""If it wasn't for the USA and the USSR we would all be speaking German""

The British weren't speaking German when the Commies and Yankls weren't even in the war.

Britain was the country that declared war on Germany. The Soviets and the Americans didn't. They only joined the war after THEY were attacked/declared war on.

If it wasn't for the British defence in 1940 and 194 then the Axis would have controlled ALL of Europe, the Med, North Africa, Middle East and eastern Atlantic.

  • A deep tribute to all that give their lives, to save us all ! THANK YOU BRAVE SOLDIERS ! From PORTUGAL with respect, one day i will visit NORMANDIE.
