In this clip from the 2008 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures, a volunteer plays with a multi-touch Surface computer, built into a table-top, and solves a video jigsaw puzzle.

You can watch the 2008 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures in full at: http://research.microsoft.com/~cmbishop or by visiting the Royal Institution web site.

There is a dedicated web site to accompany the 2008 Christmas Lectures, with ten interactive games as well as downloadable PDF instructions for experiments which can be conducted at home or at school: http://www.rigb.org/christmaslectures08

  • microsoft surface, for $10,000 and a whole table, you can almost do everything my droid can, almost...

  • This is why Microsoft Surface is awesome, even kids can appreciate it.

For those who complain they're better off with a desktop, this isn't a desktop replacement, rather a computer for hotel lobbies, resturants and other uses like that.

Next step is to have these on walls and with different sizes.

  • I'm not an IT guy, so this quite amazes me.
