  • Is this the Funk Brothers?

  • I doubt that this is the Funk Brothers. I believe Motown had moved to L.A. by this time, and were using different studio musicians.

  • I got them from a site that's no longer in business. I'm glad you like them.

  • @roro316 Probably right. There may have been some Funk Bros in the band but likely intermingled with other cats. Still has the feel.

  • @gaatooor It's not Jamerson, it's Wilton Felder of the Jazz Crusaders.

  • @roro316 Funk Brother West......not the Detroit ones. It was primarily Wilton Felder on bass from the Jazz Crusaders and Joe Sample from the Crusaders (both who are famed for the song Street Life) With Freddie Perren on the keys, Gene Pello on Drums and others.....

  • @JCVH60 well the funk brothers did play with the Jackson 5 so it's entirely possible. As for this track specifically, i'm not sure though.

  • No This is the Funk Brothers

  • where do you guys get these raw versions from?

i;m also looking for a japanese vocal sang by michael. not a cover by a third party anyone can upload yes Tank u?

  • This song was recorded in LA with a different set of studio musicians. It's Wilton Felder on bass.

The B sides to this album were recorded in Detroit. Jamerson played on those songs.

  • This is the funk brothers without a doubt. You can tell its the great Late James Jamerson on Bass. James Jamerson didn't relocate to LA until 1972. Thats the the year Barry Gordy moved operations to the west coast. Long live James Jamerson. Bass Playin God he was.
