The video begins with a view southwest in the direction of the Eaton Centre, then I cross and turn around to show the newly constructed mall on the northeast corner which includes the AMC Yonge-Dundas 24 Theatre. The new Dundas Square is opposite the Eaton Centre on the southeast side of the street, able to fit about 1,000 people for public events.
The intersection has recently been changed to a scramble intersection, that is, it has a phase where only pedestrians can cross, even diagonally. No cars can cross at this time. There are many new video screens installed all around. Police surveillance cameras also exist now, which were key to catching the Black guy who shot a gun in a crowd of 1,000 at Dundas Square. I like the look of this place.
The sounds are crossing aids for the blind. "Cuckoo" is north-south, "chirping" is east-west.

The same corner on Sunday at midnight, noticeably less crowded!
Of course, in 50 years, the intersection will look more like this (lol!):

I was in Toronto since 1984 and saw him for years. He had some kind of big goiter in his neck and was a little more articulate at the time. Now he must have had some kind of stroke because the only Jesus stuff he rants about is short, shouted phrases. Or it may not even be a stroke, religion just burned out his brain like an old used vinyl record.
