@hinaru77 There's something cool called Anncast, it's a podcast that some people in the industry do over at animenewsnetwork and they've brung in people like marketing directors and other people from various companies though yea it's been said for both of those companies that anime wise sports anime is hard to turn a profit from. Though yea I feel if the anime got out more it would probably do better since baseball is pretty much "the american past time".

Viz stopped dubbing Hikaru No Go and Prince of Tennis specifically because they were losing money off of it. I think Prince of Tennis only had around 50 episodes dubbed. Hajime No Ippo (Fighting Spirit) for geneon another sports anime based off boxing didn't even break even in terms of sales as in it made Geneon lose money. I mean I love this anime, it's amazing but i've never seen a sports anime do well in America.

@Kieyran I don't think thats the case. This is the first time many ppl saw this comnerical. I think it's the problem with getting it out cause it funny how many ppl love it but do not know about it. Viz and Genon have nothing to do with this. Ppl watch sports all the time and animes like prince of tennis and Hikaru no go is making it's money but not Bw? I don't think thats the case with this one. however I still thank and love funi for dubbing this series,

8 months late. Anyway funimation said when the second season came out that they most likely wouldn't get it because this anime sold really badly for them. Sports anime just can't seem to pick up in America no matter who does it, i've seen VIZ and Geneon try as well with no luck unfortunately.

as much as i loved this Anime i wished they had more episodes of it ,now i have to find a new anime to watch . :(...i wish they would make more episodes for it
