  • Sadly for most, this was a Pinto engine with a turbo. Man I miss those days...dropping an SVO engine into a Pinto (rpush notwhithstanding). A little more intricate than a cleveland.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING... I remember when I first saw this car LAP THE WHOLE FIELD at LBGP. Think I was 8 years old (88ish) told my father... "Man when that yellow / white car goes to turn one, sure sounds like TWEETY BIRD!" Those wastegates releasing 30+ psi of boost sounded SO DAMN awesome!

-- Funny thing is when I talked to a head engineer of the Pete Halsmer RX7 team. They were blown away by the DYNO numbers that Roush got! They were not supposed to see them.

  • That is one of my favorite race cars of all time. I saw the engine at Roush during fabrication. The head was 100% billet machined -- dead straight intake runners to say the least.

    Awesome!

  • Indeed, there's a guy up the street from me trying to sell his. If it was 4wd i would buy it in a heart beat!

  • Yup, 2.3 (Turbo Charged) she is! Awesome car, shame it was never offered here in the USA as 4wd.

  • is that a ford 2.3L OHC engine??

  • cool clip, thanks for sharing
