Season 2 Episode 18 Part 2

Hosted by Leonard Nimoy and broadcast weekly from 1976 to 1982, In Search Of... is the greatest mystery documentary show ever. I grew up watching this show, enjoying the spine-tingling presentation of quasi-fact and dramatic synthesizer-heavy music of Rinder and Lewis.

I am not selling this material, neither am I interested in buying bootlegs. It is currently commercially unavailable, so I am joining with others to make evaluation of this excellent series possible.

Check my subscriptions to find users with more episodes, and drop me a note if you have posted any "new" ones. Thanks for watching!

  • Greece is a failed state, there's no point sending good money after bad.

  • @TDelorean No, today's modern Turks are not getting that. Classical Greece had more to do with Troy or it's downfall. Modern Greeks have some semblance to their past and therefore should get anything that comes out of this. The turks will do nothing more than try to cash in on it. Besides, do you really want to give this to a nation that still says there was no such thing as "The Armenian Genocide"?

  • @Gigrantula58 Um... you mean Turkey, where they were uncovered?

  • @TDelorean Any treasure should all be returned to Greece and not haggled over by two nations which have very little to do with this.

  • Epilogue: the treasure was found by the Russians in the Zoo flak tower, and taken back to Russia. The Soviets denied this for decades, finally revealing the truth with the onset of perestroika in the 1990's. It may yet be returned to Germany, if Russia receives what it considers fair compensation for the many artworks looted or destroyed during the Nazi invasion.
